Appearance

 If female day make is applied professionally each day to enhance the features. Male must be clean shaven with short, neat hair cut.

 Nails are of an acceptable length (the free edge does not extend beyond the tip of the finger). Nail polish is not worn on the fingernails.

 Hair is tied away from the face in a neat style (pulling the hair into a pony tail is not an example of a style)

 Uniform is washed and pressed daily, shoes are clean and scuff free. The appropriate colour of underwear is worn beneath the uniform (dark underwear beneath a white uniform will not be considered acceptable)

 No visible tattoos or piercings.

Language Must exhibit clear speech, not too fast or slow.

Confident public speaker Ability to stand in front of 10 people, minimum, and deliver information clearly and confidently. Areas of assessment include – eye contact, clarity of speech, smile, body language (hand gestures, fidgeting, shuffling the feet etc)

Attitude Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills. Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality. Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge. Must be a team player. Positive outlook even in difficult circumstances.

 

Reports to: Spa Manager

Job Summary An Esthetician administers professional facials and Ionithermie treatments to our guests. They must possess thorough knowledge of the skin and body, and have excellent practical techniques, cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing to train in our spa’s specific facial and Ionithermie treatment offerings. They must have excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness and beauty solutions to meet the needs of our guests.

Duties and Responsibilities

 To be on time for your shift, prompt with each appointment and to perform services within the appropriate time allocated for the service.

 To provide consistent professional facial and body treatments in accordance with La Therapie and Ionithermie protocols and accepted certification practices.

 To be flexible with your scheduling, supporting the needs of the spa.

 Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.

 Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests in these areas.

 Actively promote home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals.

 Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by USPH and Steiner’s policies and procedures.

 Properly clean and restock room as required.

 Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.

 Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as seminars, promotions and/or discounts available.

 Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.

 Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.  Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.

 Possess ability to work without direct supervision.

 Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.

 Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.

 Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

Education and Experience Requirements Must hold and maintain a current Esthetics license Face and body electrical (must have galvanic and faradic clearly shown on any certification)
